How much does a new roof cost?
It depends on the size and shape of the roof, the covering, access and the condition of the structure underneath. We give free, no-obligation written quotes after an inspection. Our Roof Cost Guide explains what affects the price.
How do I know if my roof needs repairing?
Common signs include slipped or missing tiles, damp patches on ceilings, daylight in the loft, sagging, and water stains after rain. A roofer can inspect it and tell you the cause.
How long does a roof last?
It depends on the covering, the quality of installation and how well the roof is looked after. Natural slate is often among the longest-lasting, and a well-maintained tile roof can also last many decades. See our guide for detail.
Should I repair or replace my roof?
Isolated damage is often repairable, while widespread or recurring problems point towards replacement. An inspection will show which makes sense for yours.
What is the difference between slate and tile?
Slate is a natural stone, often favoured for its long life and traditional look. Tiles are concrete or clay and offer a wide range of styles at various price points. See our comparison guide.
Which flat roof system is best?
Torch-on felt, cold applied liquid and EPDM rubber can all work well. The right one depends on the roof shape, access, condition and budget.
What should I do after storm damage?
Stay safe, limit water getting in, take photos from the ground, contact your insurer and call a qualified roofer. Do not climb onto the roof yourself.
